the dead make pleasant

neighbors do not throw

basketballs whoop or scream

or play rude music late at night

they make pleasant neighbors

out of sight patient and peaceful

calm and good keeping to themselves

like neighbors should

slumbering under a lush green lawn

maybe we too are dead and gone
