Lightning blisters
in purple rage
above the shoreline.
Wind grips the grass
of salt marsh, in snarls,
like a legion Medusa.
But, we are here, with
cushions the color
of apricot,
a low candle, and a vase
filled with names.
What we are calling,
remains unknown
until the first pale light

She is a former board member of Lowell Celebrates Kerouac!, a festival honoring Lowell native-born author Jack Kerouac, and produces the Edgar Allan Poe Show, celebrating Poe's presence in Lowell.
